SCOTT MILLER & Friends: ROBIN & LINDA WILLIAMS and TRENT WAGLER (of The Steel Wheels). Sat., July 1, 2017 – 7:30 pm. The John E Hillert Auditorium in The Historic Masonic Theatre. 510 Main Street, Clifton Forge, VA 24422. 540-862-5655 Scott Miller returns to the Historic Masonic Theatre and is bringing along a few of his friends, Trent Wagler (of The Steel Wheels) and Robin and Linda Williams, to join him onstage and add even more musical magic to the evening. Help us celebrate our birthday with Scott Miller & Friends! Scott Miller’s writing is informed and fueled by his connection to his family land in Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley. He truly is the sum of his ‘Southern place’:rural imagery, sin and salvation, defiant, rebellious, pathos and humor. Proclaimed,"An americana songmaster." Trent Wagler's hybrid of old timey country and bluegrass sense with funky blues and rock roots makes for a slappin' good time on the back porch of someone's kid sister. For more than four decades now, Robin and Linda Williams have made it their mission to perform the music that they love, "a robust blend of bluegrass, folk, old-time and acoustic country that combines wryly observant lyrics with a wide-ranging melodicism." As live performers they are second to none.

The Historic Masonic Theatre is proud to present the Grammy-winning bluegrass group, The Seldom Scene.Tickets: $30/$27/$25ABOUTWhat does it take for a bluegrass band to remain popular for more than four decades? For The Seldom Scene, it’s taken not only talented musicians, a signature sound, and a solid repertoire, but also a sheer sense of fun. Over 40 years since they began playing together at weekly jam sessions in Ben Eldridge’s Bethesda, Maryland basement, The Seldom Scene have become one of the single greatest contributors to the progression of bluegrass while setting a new standard and attracting new audiences to the genre. Their legendary weekly DC-area residencies included bluegrass versions of country music, rock, and even classical pop. The band's popularity soon forced them to play more than once a week—but they continued to maintain their image as being seldom seen, and on several of their early album covers were photographed with the stage lights on only their feet, or with their backs to the camera. The Seldom Scene have performed at the White House many times, and continue to tour year-round.
